Just a small piece of restaurant hiring advice. Restaurants are always hiring. Get a list and with hat in hand go to first, the places you want to work at. It's a sales job. Present yourself, give your credentials, ask for a job. Face to face. If the answer is no, you've got many more to see. You should be able to see at least 15-20 in a day. It will take you a few days, if necessary, to go through all the places in our area. And don't stop until you close the deal. If you have decent skills, good attitude, and can show up for work. you are ahead of the game. Don't wait for a message board, local ad, or word of mouth. I guarantee this method and it can be a very rewarding experience. Restaurants are always looking to replace "slackers". Good luck.

Good advice - there are plenty of folks who find and fill jobs on this forum also. I would suggest pursuing every avenue possible. Now is a pretty good time to be looking for a job in SoWal.

Saw a help wanted sign for a cook at the entrance of The Terrace Restaurant in Inlet Beach yesterday.

There is no one "waiting" on a message board or forum. I am simply trying to put feelers out for these guys. In this age, the internet IS a way to get job leads along with putting in applications and I am sorry, but I "thought" this forum had a place titled "Employment" for people to post jobs and for people to post that they needed a job???????

You are correct, NightAngel. I'll keep the unsolicited advice to myself next time. Good luck.

I saw an ad in yesterday's Daily News classifieds that Cafe 30A was looking for line cooks.
