By the way - AOL is blocking my e-mail as spam off and on. If they are doing it to me they must be doing it to a lot of other people. So it's best not to use your AOL mail or just dump them all together.

I don't know how anyone can have AOL and do business if they're blocking email because you won't get important emails.

If you have to keep your AOL then set up another mail account for business on Yahoo, hotmail, etc. Or better yet, buy your own domain name that includes e-mail.

Are they blocking the ones you are sending or receiving? I know that my Dad had the same problem with AOL when they would send out mass emails to their customers.

My employer also had problems with AOL and mass e-mails.

We have had other problems with AOL continuing to bill after we canceled their service. They will not give up! (Of course we won't either :pissed:)

We never liked it, and had the same problems untangling ourselves from them like everyone else. And after you have endured the aggravation of cancelling service with them, you will NEVER go back! Maybe if did a bunch of IM stuff, but we don't.

We simply used their so-many-hours FREE disc to check if a problem we were having was our computer or our server - Cancelled well within the time period, received a notice from them of our cancellation, but they still kept billing. :bang:

I really like AOL and have had it for the past 7 years. I like the child controls, having 7 email addresses available to use, games, spam control, pop up control, virus protection and free firewall. I don't know if other services offer all this or not. I have AOL Broadband and I'm happy with it so why change?

That's always been the prevailing opinion in the Mer family, too.

I also used to keep AOL b/c of a reality tv message board. Now that I talk about most of it here I don't visit there anymore. You all are more entertaining. :clap_1: I'm afraid of change too...another sign I'm getting old.

I use aol as well and have never had a problem. Doesn't the spam mail just get sent to the spam folder? They are kind enough to remind me to check it now and again for those important e-mails.

If you report it as spam then it gets added to your "blocked list" and it is blocked indefinetly. You can go back and change it if you want to.

I am talking about a situation where mail from a certain user (ip address) is totally blocked. It never gets to a spam folder. It is a sledge hammer approach to fixing a problem.

Maybe I have been missing important e-mails! I'm sure I won a big prize & don't even know it. I should probably switch but am too darn lazy.

Yeah, and if we did switch we may still get billed for AOL so why bother.

I use it, Mr. Pod hates the fact that I do, I think he's morally opposed to it. But I've never had a problem, and I've been paying less than $5 a month for it for months now, so it's cheap, too.
