Hatchlings Rockefeller
Linda Giacometti of Inlet Beach has a solution for a common wildlife issue here in south Walton.
?This past season, for the first time in the 7 years we?ve lived on the beach, I?ve had a problem with sea turtle hatchlings. They keep wandering up onto my back patio.?
Giacometti says she is fully aware of the county?s regulations for turtle lighting, and that her house complies with the rules.
The problem started when Linda got a 50? Panasonic TH-50 Plasma TV for Christmas last year, and at 460 Watts it can really light up the room. The room in question being the large great room facing the water. Says Giacometti, ?It?s hilarious; I?ve been out on the beach at night and looked back up at the house when the TV was on?..it looks like someone is letting off fireworks in there!?
Several nights recently, Linda has looked out of her expansive French doors and noticed hordes of sea turtles piling up against the glass. ?I didn?t know what to do.?
Not one to let opportunity pass her by, Giacometti called on her knowledge of gastronomy and ?cooked up? a solution to the problem.
?I found that if I adapted recipes for things like Oysters Rockefeller, or Coquilles St. Jacques and substituted turtle meat for the main ingredient, it was quite good.?
Giacometti says she has explored plans to publish the recipes in a new cookbook. ?I would give some of the profit from the sale of the cookbooks to my favorite charities, like Focus on the Family and the NRA.? Giacometti stated, ?All I want out of it is enough money to buy myself a new mink coat and an H2 Hummer.?

Stupid Hilton. Maybe they should send Paris down there to do her community service for her DUI incident? She could stay up all night turtle hatchling watching? Nah, maybe not, I would'nt trust her with a cactus.
