I live in the little town in Michigan where Daisy BB guns (Red Ryder) were first made back in 1882. Sadly the building was torn down 2 years ago leaving only the brick facade to be the face of - what else, condos. Some 10 years or so ago I was lucky enough to go inside and poke around, the walls and old wooden support beams were riddled with BB holes. One can only imagine why. Testing? BB gun wars? Bet they didn't wear them sissy safety glasses either!

I think I have them all ... somewhere....!
I have always tryed to give the kids something like $1 coins, or something like that. One child lost a tooth at church camp (along with another of her friends), so they got cross necklaces instead of $$. Luckily I was a chap. on that trip. Another time, she lost one at the beach:D , so she got a little flip-flop ring. Funny thing, the notes from the tooth fairy are what they look for- could care less about the $$!

You write notes too? I used my fanciest curly writing.:D I've told this story before but it's a goodie. I warped my child for life. Sam started loosing her teeth in preschool. The first time, I sent her an email from the tooth fairy. It was an e-card and it was a little cloud-like fairy that sang. It totally freaked her out. The next time I took her tooth then sprinkled glittery fairy dust on her pillow and window sill. After that she never left teeth under her pillow...the thought of that little singing cloud-like fairy coming in the window and taking teeth right out from under her did her in! From then on she left her teeth in a little tooth box that she made and left it on her dresser for the tooth fairy to pick up.

Oh OL...I am laughing too hard! Just save all that tooth money for the therapist!!! It's alwaya the mothers fault! :D

Okay...here is an idea for all that junk. I get Daily Candy emails...and there was a company that puts all sorts of "junk" in a glass container and sells it. First thing I thought was...who would buy someone else's junk? Then, I thought...maybe a good idea for all that stuff that you just can't part with...like I have a hotel key I forgot to turn back in from Paris stuck in my junk drawer (one of three!!!) So, you get a glass container and fill it with that kind of stuff. :dunno:

:clap_1: :clap_1: I LOVE this idea. Like a time capsule. I am going to buy containers, put blank labels on them, and every time I add a piece of whatever to the container, I write down on the label what it is, how I got it, etc. Then my children can deal with these little treasures after I am gone.

I'd be freaked out if a fairy was standing over my bed singing to me too.:rotfl:

God, I love Moms. Y'all are a trip.

Ladies, discarded/lost teeth are disgusting. I mean, what do y'all plan to do, make bracelets from them? My wife even had a friend who saved her baby's umbilical cord stump. Now THAT is disgusting.

My two-year-old will start to lose teeth soon enough. Once he does and they are collected by the tooth fairy, they are gone!

BTW, what is the going rate for the tooth fairy these days. I used to get a quarter per tooth. Of course, this was in the 60's, so with inflation and all......

I don't know if I was high or low, but $5 was the average. Also, if we had tokens left over from a local arcade, those went under the pilow.

I have my son's teeth (which were cleaned in peroxide before the tooth fairy came) and the PE tubes that were put in his ears when he was four. When the first tube fell out, I mistook it for a dried-up Spaghetti-O stuck to his pillow.

My aunt was babysitting when Wesley's umbilical stump fell off. Grossly enough, she didn't notice when it happened and I never found it in the house. We suspect the cat may have eaten it.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

BTW, did I tell y'all we have another on the way? Utter, complete surprise. I'm still in shock, because we can't afford it. But I keep resolving myself by saying it's somehow God's plan that little Sam will now have a sibling.

Congratulations!!! Mr & Mrs JB!!:clap_1: If we always waited until we could afford them we'd never have kids! It will be so great for Sam!

Congrats JB. Do you know what causes this? I mean, you said you were surprised and all. J/K....I know you do. :D

Not only do I have all of Jesse's teeth, (hey the dentist gave me these cute little plastic molar teeth with a lid to put all of them in). I still have the EPT test that showed positive!!!!

Good luck JB!!!!
