JB, congrats to you & your family! It's nice for kids to have siblings, though lately I'm thinking that an only child might not have been so terrible - LOL

Saving a placenta isn't all that rare in the circles I run in. Not unusual to dry it, and capsule it for it's hormonal properties in dealing with post-partum depression. But, foreskin creeps me out.

Or if you're Tom Cruise, simply eat it with some faver beans and a nice Chianti.

:funn: How funny!!!!! Somehow though, this does not surprise me that it happens at the dargs house!!!!

One and done was our plan, too. Oh well. Amazing how seven minutes of passion turns into 18 years of commitment.

I can really relate. I wonder if I would have been so lackadaisical about preventing a third child if I had calculated that I will be 53 when Katiefunn goes to college?

This thread is hysterical. And very timely, too -- our oldest, who is almost 7, lost his second tooth yesterday during his Valentine's Day party. You should have seen all the kids oooh and ahhh over it.

Last night I went looking for his first tooth and couldn't find it. Then I thought of Mermaid and JB's posts and suddenly wasn't so disappointed.

My theory on the tooth fairy is there ought to be some universal law setting the rates per tooth. Sort of like a minimum wage. Little gifts are nice and all, but what happens when your first graders starts talking with the other first graders about what they get for their teeth? Suddenly the tooth fairy seems less egalitarian.

My son is totally the kind of kid who wouldn't be able to stop asking me why Jackson got $5 and he only got $1. Then I remember myself at that age, and how I caught my mother taking my tooth out from under my pillow, and suddenly realized the truth about not just the tooth fairy, but Santa and the Easter bunny. I just want to keep him innocent a little longer. So everyone: It's $1 a tooth, okay!?!

Our #3 was a little surprise, and for that I am eternally greatful! Without her, I never would have seen this in my son. You've never seen anyone love another like he loves her

Sorry I just reread what I posted and it came across as being bossy when I was trying to be humorous. I didn't get enough sleep last night. When I went to perform my tooth fairy duties I actually woke him up then pretended I was just tucking him in and kissing him good night. I waited another 45 minutes to try again. Who knew how stressful these things could be?

Beachmom I forgot to say how much I loved that picture! My No. 1 is just like that with his baby sister. It is so sweet.

Oh, no I didn't take it as being bossy at all. And I did the same thing with tooth fairy duties. Sometimes I would have try 3 times because my son was such a light sleeper. Those days are gone now. It passes to fast so enjoy it while you can!!!!!
