Babysitting Club

YES! It would be nice to have a group of sitters that we can go to - without paying a nanny service fee. We prefer our sitters to drive to our house - but are willing to pick them up within a reasonable distance. Update on here when it happens - thanks!

I think there is a local group of sitters - maybe through Seaside or one of the other resort towns for their guests? I've heard of it from a few people but I've never really seen anything about it. It would be wonderful to have a community based babysitting club for us everyday people who live and work here and need to go out now and then!!! Many families today live away from family, like a ton of us living in SoWal, and really don't have access to sitters.

I would love to see a reasonable sitters club for the locals. It's true that alot of us don't have family close by. We trade off with friends but would like to go out with those friends every now and then too! Haha! So let us locals know when that happens! There are several babysitting services here but most of them you can't afford to go out AND pay a babysitter. For most of the sitters that join that service, that is their job, so they need to have higher rates. It would be nice to have a sitter club that consisted of younger girls that would like to make some extra money but didn't need that money to live off of. I don't mean to come off cheep but there is a difference between affordable and too expensive to be able to go out and have a sitter too. 😀

As a military family we had the same problem with being away from family. On the Naval Base in Charleston we formed a co-op and had a broad enough membership that we were able to still socialize with close friends while using other members to redeem our points. Wish you luck b/c I know my own daughter loved making the big bucks that the visitors paid when she was a young teen. Locals didn't have a chance.

Yes I think this will really work their children will be enjoying more and more.....

I would be very interested! I am a newly single mom with a 4 year old. No family around. An evening activity other than Chuck-E-Cheese would be welcome 😉
