Wow. I rarely hear of locals drowning after being caught in rip currents.
Not only should we pay attention to the warning flags on the beach, but we should also learn how to swim out of rip currents, and teach all of our friends who are visiting, how to do the same.

Wow. I rarely hear of locals drowning after being caught in rip currents. Please don't let being "local" give you a false sense of security! That rip does not care where you live. Knee deep is far enough when conditions are rough-- I am just sick that the drownings have started early this year.

Actually knee deep is too deep. One good wave knocks you off your feet and then you've lost your grip. Out you go.
Red and double red mean don't go in.
