any of you sowal friends experiencing the bad weather around today ? we are just having rain and wind - we still have at least 6 inches of snow on the ground here, it just doesn't want to go away ....we also have a level 1 travel warning for our area due to standing water on the roadways.

I am a bit concerned about our Midwest and Northeastrn friends. There has been so much snow and now rain, I bet there will be a flood threat as the weather warms up.

We have a river going through our back yard at the moment...

But it's nothing compared to what is going on in AL. I'm so sad, it's just horrible.

I just talked to my friend in Warren Ohio and they are worried about flooding.

I just talked to my friend driving back from New Orleans as I type. He has been driving behind the storm, but may have just caught up with it at Pensacola. He said there is a real bad wreck on the bridge on 98. Traffic backed up. I told him to continue to drive slow ans stay behind the storm. Meanwhile we are under a tornado watch till 5am here in Washington County. The wind sheer here has already made all my patio furniture lawn furniture.

Last count I heard from Enterprise was 19 and still looking for folks under the rubble out at the school.

My thoughts and prayers are going out to them!

Fasten your seatbelts y'all, we're in for a looonnnngggg nite.

Now it's 15.

15 is the latest they are still reporting here on Birmingham local news...for now....hopefully that is all.

I was bumped off line when the Tornado Warning came on tv. The warning was for North Walton, with rotation of tornado strength just north of Defuniak Springs and moving toward Geneva, AL. No rain here, but much flash lightning in the distance.

Yep, looks like a possible super-cell or at least lots of wind sheer right now from Graceville over to 231 and up to Dothan. They're telling people to take cover now.
We're getting really bad windsheers up here near Vernon. Getting pretty interesting.
I think the 19 I heard earlier includes everyone in all states. Tragic.

I was in Dothan today and decided to make a break for home around 3:00. I was kinda skeered even though I knew I was between the cells. How sad for Enterprise families and everyone else :( There is just not much warning with tornados.....Looks like we will be getting a bit o weather here pretty soon.....

The wind and rain have arrived, and with gusto! Maybe it will knock down all of that pollen that has had me off my feet for the last three days. My whole body aches from sneezing for three days.

Well, here it is! The bottom just fell out. Lightning striking around the property. House is rockin!

Friend just called, has made it as far as Ponce De Leon and said traffic is crawling along at 40mph on I-10 as it is raining pretty hard.

Funny, but I can hear the rain blowing harshly in gusts against the roof, but my house shakes more when the bombs are going off at Eglin. One of my dogs is so scared of storms that he is sleeping under the guest bed right now, though I'm not certain how much actual sleep he will get tonight with this storm.

Good night everyone and good luck with the weather. John R, you moved just before we got our road paved. I havent met the new neighbors yet. If they are half as nice as you we will be lucky indeed.

I have the phone through Mediacom, and the warning knocked me offline, and it knocked my phone out. I restarted my modem five times, but still can't get the phone to work. Is that normal?

We tried to have a storm party, but Punzey's doggies weren't too excited about hanging out in my garage. It wasn't so bad here though- we were waiting for a big storm but it wasn't to big.:idontno:

Roomie just walked in, soaked to the bone. He just drove in from New Orleans, and said it didn't get ugly till Pensacola, then all hell broke loose by the time he got to DeFuniak. Its rockin and rollin right now.:(

punzy that is a common thing around here. Wait until morning, then try reseting the phone modem by first unplugging it from the power for 60 seconds. Then see if that works. If not then try the reset button on the phone modem and hold it in for 15 seconds before releasing. That is per the MediaCom phone people, and one of the two usually works, unless they cut a line somewhere.

Ain't that the truth. It's the one thing I miss from Denver.
Didn't sleep a wink last night. My heart goes out to the tornado victims and their families. :(
Weird thing:
At preschool yesterday, the weather system came in, and we got the tornado warning. During naptime, every single kid in our toilet-trained 3 year old class, (and several of the big kids, 4 and 5 yrs old, across the hall) peed their pants.
I swear it was the air pressure or some such thing. Isn't it a full moon as well?

i hope everyone is ok with all the wild weather...we got pretty lucky here and didn't have any severe storms. there is just tons of water standing everywhere, several roads are closed in our county due to standing water.
i feel terrible for all the tornado victims and their families....what a hellacious thing to go thru...
