4pm on December 14th at the S. Walton Annex.
Attached is the new proposal that I assume they will vote on. In reading it they made some changes, but in the end the same rules about having to have a permit for the past two years remains. If that is the case then how can new residents or people who now qualify get a permit since they did not have a permit before? Hmmm....
Anyway, passing it along.

It also allows any disabled person to obtain a temporary tag apparently without any of the requirements of a non-disabled person. I'm not against disabled people using the beach or having access to it, but this sure sets up the county for a lawsuit.
I also notice that aside from the catch 22 language that doesn't allow anyone who didn't previously have a permit to get one they removed the habitable structure provision.

I e-mailed Sara Comander to get some clarification on it as it does not seem to make sense when whether you did or did not have a habitable structure you would not have had the permit in the past 2 years so therefore you can't get one anyway. Anyway, I will pass along any clarification that I may get.

"sets up the county for a lawsuit????"
I'd love to meet the person who files a lawsuit because the county is giving disabled people temporary beach permits.

Remember where we live, South Walton, the land of the entitled. It wouldn't surprise me if some chucklehead filed a lawsuit. The question is; what is temporary, day, week, month?
I'm a bit confused about the habitable structure requirement being struck.
I'm liking the change in filing dates.

The draft that the commissioners will be considering on Dec. 14 has been revised. The new draft calls for an additional 150 permits to be issued, beginning July 1 in the order that applications are received. This would include people who did not have permits the previous year. There are other changes, as well, including the vehicle permit fee going up from $105 to $125. Here is a link to the new draft: http://fl-waltoncounty.civicplus.com/Documentview.aspx?DID=2965
