Sowal has bingo now on 98. I am not a serious bingo player. I went with my grandmother when I was a teen in Maine, and my stepgrandmother in upstate New York, and several times with relatives in North and South Carolina. But I would not consider myself a serious payer, because I am 38 years old, and have played an average of twice a year for all of my years.
For someone looking to have fun or a good time playing, this is not for you. The entrance fee isn't much, the win isn't much. But the way they play for a non-profit organization is insane. They call the number out every 2 seconds. They give you no time to mark your numbers. But that's not a big deal. The problem is that the games you play are different every time, and complicated at times to understand what numbers win, but they call the numbers so fast, you can't even see if you have won. You are too concentrated on if you have marked the last number called. So when you realize that you have won a game, which isn't just across, or diagonal, but some variation of different numbers that they have decided makes a win for the game, if you did not realize on the EXACT number that made you a winner, your card is not a winner. And once you don't call bingo when you card hits, your card is never a winner, you may have hit bingo and just not noticed it, but when you do notice it, it CANNOT win.If you miss that one winning number, you are out of luck, and they call numbers out ENTIRELY too fast for you to realize that you have won. But your card can sit there for another 10 numbers, with a winning bingo on your card and NO ONE ELSE CALLING BINGO, and you cannot call bingo and win, once you missed your 2 second chance when your winning number hit. There was once I realized I had won the crazy Z game that they were playing, but 5 numbers had been called since the number that completed my Z. No one else had called bingo since then...but still my winning bingo was not a winner, because I didn't notice it 5 numbers ago when I hit, because they were calling out numbers so fast, I was actually 5 numbers behind, having to look at the screen and double check all of the numbers because it was impossible to keep up with the pace of the caller. So if you had to get up and try to even use the restroom, and then try really quick when you sat back down to catch up on the numbers you missed, and then realize you hit a bingo while you were using the restroom, it's too bad, your card is not a winner, and cannot be a winner. I went there thinking I was going to have fun, the prizes weren't much, I was just bored and wanted to try a different form of entertainment in SOWAL.I just couldn't believe how fast paced and serious this place was for a non-profit local organization. It was WAY to stressful to be any kind of fun.
