Blue Mabel recently announced that the restaurant has permanently closed. The restaurant has gained popularity with many locals and visitors since it's opening several years ago...

It’s with a heavy heart that I share some disappointing news. After five incredible years, operational challenges in the post-pandemic hospitality industry have led to the difficult decision to permanently close Blue Mabel. My sincere thanks to the amazing staff, patrons, and the unwavering community support that made Blue Mabel a special place. #BlueMabelMemories #Grateful

I had a friend who worked there for a while... I wonder what the plans are for the building.

Spill. If profitable then it would be sold instead of shutdown - yeah?

Is it true they have not paid some employees for a month?

Nice 1st post! I assume you are one of them. That totally sucks. Happens almost every time a business goes bust.

There's nothing to "spill".

Due to staffing issues, exacerbated by high rents and availability, the owner chose to close.

If a business can't pay rent and can't pay staff then it's losing money or at least treading water stands to reason. Not sure why you're posting otherwise if you know nothing.

They owned and still own the building. I don't like engaging with you since you put words in my mouth and then try and twist it.

Your own words about rent but they own it?

Staffing is tough. Restaurant owners have to pay well.

Sorry, I meant the rents are too high for staff and they were well paid plus tips.

We go to the Cowgirl Kitchen each visit. (Miss the Seagrove location but we followed it west.) Intended to stop in there our last visit. Sorry to hear that. Also, watching the weather around the country. We stayed at Gulf Place last July. Have a neighbor with a vacation home there. A former coworker lives in Dune Allen. Hope everyone is safe. You are fortunate that your temperatures are mild. Otherwise damaging winter storms are a challenge. Best wishes to all in our favorite beach area since 1998. Ellen.
