thanks for looking into the bonfire Fran. I can pitch in some mula.

And Mr. Smiling Joe! relax your crack. Have you forgotten your manners? This party consists of nothing but loyal sowallers who have made themselves more aware of local environmental concerns than most people who live here. if anyone can be trusted with our treasured Grayton Beach, it's this crew. ;-)

Quite a few of us are highly trained in the art of the Grayton Beach party - franny, allifunn, me, otters, kurt, SJ, uncle timmy, etc. We get to do it pretty often. But this party is a little more special than usual because of all those coming in from out of town have taken the time to plan and network and put it all together. Thanks to all of you for bringing this real community of folks together, face to face, for a blast on the beach...

I hope Corky brings her laptop so we can post some special messages to our friends who can't be there - you will ALL be missed. IF you want us to print your avatar, or whatever, please email it to one of us who will bring it and tape it to the truck. we'll toast you and tell jokes about you and maybe make up some lies too.

I have a feeling that next Saturday is going to be an event to remember. thanks to all for making it important and making it happen.

Tootsie. You are so precious, Boo

Seems I always hit threads waaaaaaaay after the subject I know about has passed, but anyway... unless something happened that I didn't hear about, cousin Sam is single. ;-)

Shallow, the Sam Wesley I am referring to has a wife and son. Are you thinking of Jody perhaps, his single brother??:D

I just spoke to the Walton County Sheriff's Dept and they DO pick up the burn barrell the next day. As far as clean up I was only referring to the burn barrell NOT the party clean up. Any questions call WCSD at 267-2000. I would never leave trash on the beach, light n up buddy. Left a message for Sam and will let everyone know details when he calls back.

NO! The County does not clean up after your bonfire!!! ...and you should not leave trash on the beach overnight, so that it can blow around during the night. Clean up after yourselves the best you can at the end of the night and still pay Sam to ensure it is clean the next morning. You don't want to give Kurt and SoWal a bad reputation!!! :nono1:  ... nor do you want to get on my sh_tlist.

BTW, here is the law: "
Sec. 22-54. Regulation of use and conduct on the beach and water bodies. (2) It shall be unlawful and a violation of this article for a person to fail to clean up after the fire has been extinguished."

;-) If you mess it up, you clean it up. I don't like being an @sshole, so don't let your actions get me started. Do the right thing. :D I love  you all dearly, but that had to be said. :D

Now back to the party...

I didn't think that sounded like something you would say or do. I am glad you clarified it. I reread my reply post and I was rather harsh. I have some passion about trash.

I think you need to go to work for the sowal trash service! They say you should work where your passion is. :D

Just heard back from Sammy and he will have the bonfire ready by 5pm Sat the 14th!!! he will take care of any mess that night and the next morning that the county would not pick up. I will give him a check and then collect from everyone Saturday night if that's ok. I believe Allisonfunn suggested everyone to bring weinners and I guess coat hangers, of course marshmellows and perhaps a dish, appie whatever. Can't wait to see/meet everyone!!:clap_1:
