i am curious what kind of books everyone here on the board reads. i love to read and probably have accumulated several thousand books in my basement. i like a little bit of everything, especially mysteries/thrillers, and of course my guilty pleasure harlequin blaze books. blazes are excellent beach reading, and i stockpile them from trip to trip to make sure i have enough to last for 2 weeks !

I will admit to loving Regency romances. I can't help it! Every now and then I will slip a worthy book in between, just to keep my brain from completely turning to stuffing, but that's not where my heart is. Luckily, I have a sister who is on the Board of Directors in her town's library, so she keeps me on the straight and narrow. :funn:

I read tons of magazines. We get Smithsonian, travel mags, gardening, craft, and shelter mags. (Can you tell my daughter's school sells magazines for their annual fundraiser?)

Jane Austin. Anything by Jane Austin. Pride and Prejudice is the best. Mansfield Park would have been, aside from the lame ending.

Also love George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series (I am a closet fantasy lover), and Tolkien's now over-popular Lord of the Rings.

For you Tolkien fans- I saw a Tolkien Christmas book last night at a friend's house. I believe it was a collection of Christmas letters to his children? I didn't get to really dig into it, but I'm going to look around online today. It may be out of print.
