Those aren't booms, they are bombs, and I don't think Eglin has any restrictions about Fridays.

The clip JB posted above was a Massive Ordinance Air Blast bomb (MOAB- aka Mother of All Bombs) dropped on Eglin AFB.

Check out [nomedia]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_siJJWYFs0[/nomedia] which has a little more background on the MOAB.
"GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb
The MOAB is an Air Force Research Laboratory technology project that began in fiscal year 2002, as a descendant of the BLU-82 "Daisy cutter". It underwent a successful field test at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida on March 11, 2003 and another in mid-November. The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory has said a larger version of the MOAB exists, weighing thirteen tons. (more)"

I can't find my Lily pooch..hiding from the booms!!😱

We're hearing them (and feeling them) on the east side, too.
<BOOM!>
The sound of freedom.
$10,000.00 a pop? Yikes.

I think they're just using the eastern part of the test ranges more than usual. Not all that many booms by my house today, and if there was something significantly huge, my house would be shaking.

we heard and felt them over at the watersound beach club.

Heard a couple here today. Last week was worse. Any thoughts on the side effects of living near this? When in Defuniak two weeks ago, I never realized how LOUD they were up there. :shock: WOW.:shock:

Did you find her ok? Griif hides in cabinets, the bathtub, and laundry basket. She is terrified of the tremors.

I just had another picture - quite large - fall off the wall this week - had one even larger last year fall. This never happened when I lived in central Alabama - I attribute it to the bombing - gotta be!!! :eek:
