I was wondering if Florida has ever considered a requiring a deposit for beverage bottles and cans? It just seems like such a wasted to throw away all those cans, waterbottles, and beer bottles. I know the prisoners pick through the garbage here in Walton County but soiled recyclables get thrown away. Those of you who live in states with bottle deposits, what are the pros and cons? Is this against anyone's particular ideology?
Here is a website I found googling.

Honestly, I think it would be a fabulous idea! I think it would be a great way for kids to earn extra money (let them be responsible for gathering the bottles/cans around the house & then redeeming them at the store), and would teach them about recycling and taking care of our environment. I also think that it would reduce the amount of litter we have around -- people might think twice about leaving their empty cans on the beach if they knew that they could be redeemed for money.
