Washington, D.C.
Cheney forgot:
On 72 occasions in a single interview, then?Vice President Dick Cheney told the FBI he couldn?t recall any role in exposing Valerie Plame as a CIA operative, a newly released summary of the 2004 interview shows. Cheney told agents he didn?t remember how he first learned of the identity of Plame?whose husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson IV, had disputed White House reports about Iraqi attempts to buy uranium ore from Niger. He also was fuzzy about whether he had directed his chief of staff, I. Lewis ?Scooter? Libby, who was later convicted of perjury in the CIA leak case, to reveal her identity to reporters. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which sued to get the summary released, said Cheney showed ?an astonishing inability to recollect even simple facts.?

I see no reason to doubt his word.

Someday.... I pray and pray that he will get his due...Richard Cheney, one of the biggest unconvicted criminals in U.S political history. The epitome of a meglomaniac--makes Dick Nixon look as pure as Bobbi Jhindahl!

At least his second in command. Bush, has enough sense to S.T.F.U. for now!!!

I anxiously await his trial! Instant karma is gonna get him.

God bless Valerie Plame and her husband Joe Wilson!!!!!

Of course he's blatantly lying and we all know it - but I almost prefer that to "depends on what your definition of "is" is..........."

I'd be happy if Cheney just went away - a trial wouldn't solve anything and would just fuel the divisiveness and negativity that seems to be growing.

He'll get what's coming to him somehow - he's got to earn a lot of karma before he even comes back as a cockroach.

Can you believe a guy can plead amnesia in so many ways during a single questioning session?
I don?t remember
I don?t know
I?m not sure
I have no idea
I don?t believe so
I don?t recall
I don?t think so
I don?t have any specific recollection
I have no recollection
Not to my knowledge
I just don?t remember
I don?t believe
I have no specific recollection
I might have
I don?t have any recollection of that
I don?t have a specific memory
I don?t have any memory of that
I just can?t say
I have no direct knowledge of that
I don?t have any idea
Not that I recall
I don?t believe I did
I can?t remember
I can?t say
I do not remember doing so
Not that I remember
I?m not aware
I honestly don?t know
I don?t believe that I did
I?m fairly sure
I have no other recollection
I?m not positive
I certainly don?t think so
I don?t really remember
I would have no way of remembering that
That?s what I believe happened
To my knowledge, no
To the best of my knowledge
To the best of my memory
I honestly don?t recall
I honestly don?t remember
That?s all I know
I don?t have an independent recollection of that
I don?t actually have an independent memory of that
As far as I know
I don?t believe I ever did that
That?s all I know about that
I?m just not sure
Nothing that I remember
I simply don?t know
I would have no idea
I don?t know anything about that
I don?t have any direct knowledge of that
I just don?t know
I really don?t know
I can?t deny that, I just ? I have no memory of that at all

These could apply to any number of politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Gotcha, I knew you would take the bait. All of the above phrases are from Bill Clinton's depostion in the Paula Jones affair. More than 200 episodes of amnesia in a single day. Does it matter or make anything Cheney did right? No. But your response in post 3 is so bitter and hate filled I felt like maybe I could help you realize that politicos, no matter their stripes, deny, deny, deny when they feel pressure, and giving yourself ulcers over any of them isn't worth it.

Relax.

Mild vs. severe. Interesting. I was taught no matter how small or large, don't lie. That includes lying by omission or the "I forgots." I love how each party passionately protects their own.

Sure, very clever......but come on...Clinton, Monica and a spattered dress VS Cheney and 4,000 American soldiers dead and a blood stained American Flag..

Perhaps not the death of the soldiers, BUT it did compromise a CIA operative and put her at risk. Comparing the Clinton issue and that is far fetched.

Whoever was involved in exposing the operative should be consider an enemy of America and a traitor. Can you honestly say the same about Clinton and the SBGS?

What is SBGS? And, I agree on the CIA leak. However, it did not cause the deaths of 4,000 American Soldiers. Just making sure I have all of the partisan issues right.

Clinton could have prevented the whole thing by doing something about the Taliban. He had ample warnings throughout his tenure as President. So in a not-so-funny way, he's to blame for it all. Maybe if he had spent a little less time splattering blue dresses , nobody would have died on 9/11 and we wouldn't be fighting two wars? Just a thought.

And, boogered that up. Let bin Laden go while in sight, wouldn't help Rwanda. President Bush did more for Africa than any other US President.......a shame he didn't receive a Prize.
