Apparently it will be cheaper for companies to pay the penalty and drop health insurance on employees than to provide it. So who is going to wind up paying for the insurance: that's right, you the taxpayer!

We already pay for every uninsured person that walks through the ER door. The fact that the fine is less than insurance(2,000) says more about the state of insurance and how overpriced it is than anything.

But Obamacare is not the solution to those problems.

It's not Obamacare and that name is insulting. It's something every person has to have and just let the companies keep jacking up those rates after pulling in more profit every year. It will be single payer one day because of their greed, not because people actually wanted it that way.

Yeah that's the kicker there, the legislation does nothing to bring down costs. In fact it probably will exacerbate the problem by offering subsidized all-you-can-eat plans similar to Medicare. if people think the healthcare industry has it's hooks into Washington now over Medicare, just wait until Congress controls the healthcare plans of another 50 million people. Plus the debt incurred will only expedite the ultimate outcome - default of the United States.

out gov't sucks. good family coverage costs 15k a year total were most employers pay at least 75%. so the employer can pay a 2k fine and save 9k. thats is just dandy. what company wouldn't drop the coverage. i pray obama doesn't get relected and they drop the healthcare reform
