I’d love to hear feedback from anyone who recently built a custom home. We purchased a lot on 393 and are having our plans drawn currently.
What builder did you use? Pros/cons? Recommendations? Sq ft price?

Pay no attention to the name above it is a joke.

Builders are extremely busy in South Walton. Some will not call you back, much less have time to meet and quote your project. Beware the ones who are not busy. Check with the state of FLA to make sure they are licensed and insured. Check references directly with people who have had homes built by the builders who quote your project.

Get at least 3 quotes. One or more quote is likely to be much higher, even double or more, than the others. This is a builder who is busy and doesn't need your business, just looking for a sucker.

Good luck to you! We sold a lot we owned for 20 yrs for our retirement. One reason was the cost of building is triple what it is in other beachside communities and also finding a reputable builder is extremely difficult. Jim Tucker's advise is spot on.
