[/SIZE][/B] [B] Cyclist killed in bus accident[/B] WaltonSun.com [B] January 30, 2008 [/B] Press release by DeFuniak Springs Police Department On Wednesday, 01-30-2008 at approximately 4:05 pm a Walton County School Bus (V-2) was traveling northbound on State Road 83 in front of the Walton County Fairgrounds returning to the bus barn. A bicycle (V-1) driven by Roxie L. Blackmon (46) was traveling southbound on State Road 83 on the northbound apron (east pavement edge). According to the driver of the Walton County School Bus (Sherrika A. Duncan) the bicycle crossed the painted white edge line and struck the right front of the school bus (V-2). D-1 (Blackmon) had massive head trauma and was killed instantly, coming to final rest on the east grass shoulder of State Road 83. The Walton County School Bus was caring three children on board, none of which were injured. The traffic crash investigator is Officer Richard Black. In addition to the traffic crash report, a traffic homicide investigation will also be conducted. No charges have been filed at this time.
