Dallas-O'do Tex Mex

God I love Tex-Mex. Any o' you gringos had any in SoWal? I enjoy the fare at La-Paz in Destin (their tortilla soup is to die for!).

Wasn't that the inspiration for one of our local Tex Mex restaurants?

I'm not sure I can go all the way to O'do for some Mex, no matter how Tex it is. I'm not gourmet of this genre, but I can't help saying that Cafe Laredo rings my bell a little bit better than La Coquina. (sorry George)

and I have to say that La Cucina totally rings my bell. Even though I definitely prefer hole in the wall, cheaper, family run mexican restaurants (Pepitos in Destin - I truly love you), I've rarely had salsa or cheese dip as good as Cucina! We're in love with that place. The food is delicious. and the margaritas will knock you down.

I'm not a fru fru mexican restaurant person. But I'm very glad to have Cucina in our town - its kind of in between fru fru and family style, with prices typical for 30A. The menu isn't as extensive as family style, but the food is well prepared, fresh and delicious.
