Dems running out of ways to mask spending

?Frankly it was fiscally imprudent ... to have taken those offsets that basically were agreed upon in the Senate, had been passed in the Senate, had been supported on a bipartisan basis and then were removed and used for health care reform in order to have more spending in that legislation,? said Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine). ?We had an agreement, and they should have made that sacrosanct in that legislation.?

Democrats admitted Thursday that they?ve created a problem in how to pay for unemployment benefits and have no consensus on where to find the money now.

Pay-Go rules come back to bite Dems - Meredith Shiner - POLITICO.com

Pretty funny actually. They scarfed a whole bunch of "savings" for healthcare from all sorts of other bills, like unemployment, so the healthcare bill wouldn't look as bad as it is. But now they have to find the money someplace else, and they are running out of options.

Based on McCain's most recent remarks- I'm thinking we would have already invaded Iran.

So- take your pic. We have a maverick spending money we don't have to insure more Americans or a maverick (who now says never really was one) spending money we don't have to start another war.

I seriously doubt that. The big difference in my view would have been in stimulus type legislation passed. McCain would have spent just as much, but a majority of it would have been in tax cuts vs. government spending. I think unemployment today would be lower had he been elected.

Every Obama supporter I know (myself included), feels we are better off than we were a year ago. That is without question the case for me by any measure.
It certainly isn't true with me, but then I am not an Obama supporter. Maybe thats why I'm not better off. Redistribution of wealth. My tax bill this year definitely shows this.

Conservatives continue to whine and point fingers when it comes to spending and no money to pay for it, well look no further than your mirror if voted for Bush once and hang your head in shame if you voted for him twice.

This "BLAME BUSH GAME" is getting old folks. Your Obama is making mistakes by the dozens...of course you guys will never admit that...but you know it, and most of us old Republicans and Tea Party folks know you know it!

It may be old but it is no less true, you may want to forget and hide your shame by pointing your finger and trying to rewrite history but we won't let that happen.

You might want to spend a little more time in the present analyzing the fiscal record your party is currently building. ;-)

I'm curious... why do you say that?

First of all, no one that I'm aware of among us Conservatives that post on this board is unaware or are supportive of the irresponsible fiscal decisions made during the the last portion of Bush's term. I feel no shame only regret. It has happened on the watch of many other Presidents in our history and is certainly continuing now. Secondly, you seem to think that Congress has nothing to do with the mess we're in. I suggest you put at least part of the blame where it belongs...with Congress. Lastly, as is usual the case with the liberal faction, scream scare tactics, the government will take care of it and it isn't what it seems as portrayed by Conservatives. It is what it seems and if you can't understand what is going to happen to us fiscally if we don't do something about it, I feel sorry for both of us because our lives will not be the same as they are now. I, and many, many others worked hard all our lives to live the lifestyle we can now enjoy. I only wish to see those following me able to do the same. Under our present government policies they won't be able to do so.
