OK- just got an email from Christmas show stage manager John S. at the Seaside Rep- he is looking to borrow a folding wheelchair to use in the holiday show Every Christmas Story Ever Told. I have no idea the role it will play, but it is on the list of needed props ((along with 2 puffy winter Macy's parade coats, whatever the hell they are, but if you have these, we would love to borrow them!).
Anyway, your donated wheelchair will become famous, as this show is sounding really funny (details to come soon!) and everyone will want to see it.
So- if anybody has this item and could do without it for about 6 weeks or so, the stage manager and cast would really appreciate it!
PM me or email to info@seasiderep.org, or call 231-0733.

They all fold from my experiences with Mom's wheelchairs. Mom has two right now. One is lighter than the other so I use it when I take her places so I don't break my back; the other one weighs a ton. Thank goodness I ordered the cold weather package for my car (back seats fold down; we got it to accommodate a dog crate; meant for skis, not dogs and wheelchairs; whatever). People like to steal wheelchairs. Mom has had several stolen.
So my guess is that available wheelchairs are hard to find unless the user has recently recovered from a health episode or has died.
