docks

Does anyone know about floating docks? Are they not permitted on account of DEP or other regulatory agencies? It seems they would be a reasonable alternative to building and rebuilding docks after hurricane storm surge damage. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean walkovers. Floating or not the waves would tear them apart. Several organizations, including the County, are looking at alternatives including the removable metal walkover WaterColor successfully removed and replaced before and after Dennis. I wouldn't be surprised to see the major County accesses and private developments get them soon.

If you mean lake docks - I have seen some that have floating portions.
