Interesting item going before the Board of County Commissioners on Oct 13. 2009. It seems that the pool for Fairway Villas II was dedicated to the public in the original plat, and now they are requesting it to be given back to the HOA, stating that it was an error.
Could I be reading this correctly? South Walton has a public pool and we didn't even know about it? :idontno: If so, who will be fighting at tomorrow's meeting to not give up "our" public pool?

Weird!
Was it just a typing or filing error, or were the residents of Sowal once again used by a developer?

I can't imagine it was anything other than an error. Isn't that a neighborhood pool? Hardly suitable for a public pool anyway?

😱 How dare you!!! Developers would NEVER, EVER, EVER, use these tactics for their own personal gain!!

It seems to be a large error, but as I read it, it is officially a public pool. Oops! I'd almost bet money that the county hasn't been paying to maintain it.

I've been trying to figure out how this helps the developer, and i have come up with nothing, so please explain because I am tired of thinking about it.

I guess you would have to look at the original project and see if they used so-called bonus points to increase the density. Some developers used so-called "public" areas to gain the points. Seems unlikely but it's possible. I've seen developers dedicate "green" areas that were virtually inaccessible to the public and get bonus points.

Hey Shelly in the future you have to run your statments by NoHall to be sure they are approved.
For the record, the BCC gave South Walton's only known public pool back to the rightful owners at last night's meeting.
