My precious pup has been coughing and making this snorting noise. While I have a appt. with her vet tomorrow, has anyone's pet had similar symptoms? I do not think she feels good, because she is not as perky and friendly as usual.:(

IWIWT- it could be several things, but your vet needs to listen to his lungs since respiratory bugs can turn into nasty pneumonia. Give your puppy lots of water, also watch the peeing and pooping and report any of those problems as well. Is he eating? Current on all shots and heartworm treatments?

mine seem to like the used bounce sheets...they turn up every where!!! Do you think those are bad for him?

dory was absolutely obsessed with dryer sheets - they were a delicacy to her. :idontno:

Kennel cough, as mentioned by Mango, was the first thing that came to my mind. I hope you and your pup get things figured out at the vet.

She is drinking, peeing and pooing, but not eating. We are current on shots and have had the kennel cough vaccine. I guess one big fear is my sister's dog, the same breed, died of congestive heart failure. Her vet thought it was just a cough/pnuemonia and treated it with anitbiotics. When they were on vacation, he got sick. Another vet diagnosed the condition and Max died the next day.:( I will mention this to my vet. Hopefully it is just allergies. :idontno:

Thanks for the suggestions. Always lots of info on SoWal.:D

Johnrudy, your tar is hysterical! I can't begin to tell all the dog stories I have! With 3 dogs, we are in constant need of vet visits. One of our dogs does the snorting thing every once in a while, kind of scary when it's happening. It usually passes after a couple of minutes.

I hope this is not the reason but our Jack Russell did the same thing years ago and we found out it was kennel cough even though he had had the shots...vet said the immunization was not 100%. I felt so bad for him, hope your pupchild feels better soon.

Thanks for your good wishes.

Just got back from the vet, and the vet thinks it is allergies. Her lungs were clear which is good news to me!:clap_1: Lots of Bradford Pear trees blooming here:bang: She is on Claritian, an antiboitic, and cough medicine if needed. Have to check back on Monday to see if she is better. Reminds me of having sick children...and that has been a while.
The vet even commented on her lack of energy....they usually call her bouncey!Like a bunny!

Good to hear they don't think it's anything too serious. Hope your doggie feels better soon!!! If you need to keep her on the allergy meds for a while, remember there's generic for claritin...loratadine! Much cheaper.
