SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- A woman who competed in a radio station's contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner's office said Saturday.

Jennifer Strange, 28, was found dead Friday in her suburban Rancho Cordova home hours after taking part in the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest in which KDND 107.9 promised a Nintendo Wii video game system for the winner.

"She said to one of our supervisors that she was on her way home and her head was hurting her real bad," said Laura Rios, one of Strange's co-workers at Radiological Associates of Sacramento. "She was crying, and that was the last that anyone had heard from her."

It was not immediately known how much water Strange consumed.

A preliminary investigation found evidence "consistent with a water intoxication death," said assistant Coroner Ed Smith.

John Geary, vice president and marketing manager for Entercom Sacramento, the station's owner, said station personnel were stunned when they heard of Strange's death.

"We are awaiting information that will help explain how this tragic event occurred," he said.

Initially, contestants were handed 8-ounce bottles of water to drink every 15 minutes.

"They were small little half-pint bottles, so we thought it was going to be easy," said fellow contestant James Ybarra of Woodland. "They told us if you don't feel like you can do this, don't put your health at risk."

Ybarra said he quit after drinking five bottles. "My bladder couldn't handle it anymore," he added.

After he quit, he said, the remaining contestants, including Strange, were given even bigger bottles to drink.

"I was talking to her and she was a nice lady," Ybarra said. "She was telling me about her family and her three kids and how she was doing it for her kids."

Miracles can happen! I got a Nintendo Wii and didn't have to hold my wee and die to get it! Just walked through Target, and there it was. All by itself. Waiting for me!

Actually- Will got the Wii- it was his money. But he let me play it, and it is FUN! I almost hit Kate in the face with the controller though, since you mimic the action on the screen (I was playing tennis, and swinging the racket).

Yea!!!! Remember when I told you Mr OL camped out for one...well, the next day our neighbor walked into walmart and they were just putting them out. He grabbed one and then proceded to list it on ebay. :bang: :bang: Oh well, Mr OL said it was said and done and wasn't taht bad camping out. Dylan still doesn't know how we got one.

But yes, it is funn!!! Did you buy a second controller? It's funn to play tennis against someone. Last night I played 9 holes of golf. Oh, you've probably figured this out already but DO wear the wrist strap! One of Dylan's friends almost broke the glass to our entertainment center when he flung the remote...and he was just putting!

The other cool toy was Kate's new "Walk the Dog Barbie". You put a little brown tic-tac shaped treat in the dog's mouth, lift the tail, and it comes out the back end! Then Barbie has her magnetized poop pickup stick and picks up the poop (the tic-tac poop has a magnet inside it). I swear I am not making this up!!:floor:

No, not at all. J/K, I love it too but used to love it more before they changed their return policy. I'm at Target at least once a week.

They are hard to find still...I picked ours up at Target last week. I was checking on the WiiPlay game and in the UK they are bundling it with a controller so I'm thinking maybe in Feb when WiiPlay is due out they'll do the same and you get the game free with the controller or at least for a better price. In WiiPlay, you get table tennis, duck hunt, pool, fishing and I can't think of the other ones but it sounds funn. Did Will get Zelda? We only have 2 games right now..Zelda and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. I'm not sure why Dylan wanted Zelda because he doesn't usually like that type of game and he still hasn't played it that much.

When I saw Kate, she said, "come look at my poo-poo doll," or so I thought. I saw a barbie on the bed beside her. I am thinking, a Barbie that poops? :clap_1: That is a good potty training device. I could see how Barbie's mouth opened to put in the poop, and then thought that the pooping Barbie might not work so well for potty training. Think about it. Which comes first in the little kid's mind? Did Barbie eat the poop first, or did she poop the poop first? Kate did set me straight, explaining that the doll didn't poop, the DOG was the pooper. However, you still have to feed the dog the poop, but that is easier to envision than Barbie eating poop.
