On the beach or in the dunes?

Was taking a walk yesterday afternoon and noticed what appeared to be several large concrete pillars on the beach - has anyone else seen them or know what they are used for?

I spotted them Sunday from the west side of the inlet, but didn't look at them closely. Are you sure they are concrete, and not wood pilings that may have wash up in a storm?

Your intrepid Sowal Reporter just braved the icey cold waters of Eastern Lake inlet to investigate these pilings, and they are actually huge wooden timbers (8"x12"x20' long) bolted together. Probably parts of a seawall or bridge that floated up in a recent storm, and our county moved them into a nice neat stack, before they move them away.
