Wow, wonder why they called it the Emerald Coast? I thought it was all about
"The Beach".

The editor probably said, "The Beach?...what moron came up with that title? Fix it!"

(BTW, good observation)

haven't you heard? the Beach was so successful, the originators of the idea were able to get a nice cash injection from Encore and now may proceed with business as usual. You may now call us whatever you like. Just please come and bring $$$ for the little people.

The irony is it is an Airline magazine calling it the Emerald Coast. I thought it was because of the airline folks that "The Beach" was invented. I guess the message isn't getting out to the main target.

Weird thing is the article focuses on the Ft. Walton area. Maybe all the tattoo parlors got together and hired a PR firm.

I'd guess the spread was mostly paid for by the FWB-Destin chamber of commerce.

Shame that they had such long lead time between submission and publication. Because the glowing biography of Wayne Campbell? Makes whoever ran it look very toolish after the recent fiascos at FWB Medical Center.

Well the article was basically written by a PR firm out of North Carolina called Pace Communications. Oddly though is that Mr. Bos who is interviewed in the article never mentions "THE Beach" only that Coastal Vision 3000 (always reminds me of Mystery Science Theatre 3K) is promoting the Emerald Coast. Seems like a focus group or two finally got the point across.
