Fav comedy movies?

Roger and Me

Little Miss Sunshine, the dance routine nearly made me p-- my pants.

been years since I've seen it but I remember laughing out loud at Forget Paris (Billy Crystal) scene with a bird...now I want to watch it again to see if I still think it's hilarious

The Party (Peter Sellers)

The Party (Peter Sellers)

The first time I saw it I was only about 7 years old. I didn't quite "get" everything that was happening, but just watching him stumbling around. When that roast chicken or whatever ended up in that girl's hair.:funn:

Summer Rental - Just found this gem, if you live or vacation here rent this movie.
Anything by Mel Brooks or Kevin Smith.

However my all time favorite is Spaceballs!

YES! I love Summer Rental! Ill check it out again though.

Love Mel Brooks too

I like several already mentioned, especially O Brother and Caddyshack.
I'll add:

Dazed and Confused

Local Hero

Election

Big

Wedding Crashers

We just re-watched one of the funniest of all time, the Marx Brothers in "Duck Soup" .... the level of verbal repartee and physical comedy has rarely been matched, and this film is now almost 75 years old!

The best in recent years has to be Hangover, closely followed by Wild Hogs.......

I agree with many of the above. I have tried to list some not mentioned yet:

Bubble Boy
Madagascar 1&2
Kung Fu Panda
South Park Bigger Longer Uncut
Night At The Museum 1&2
Bulworth
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
The Big Lebowski
Amelie
Funny People
Toy Story 1&2
Groundhog Day
The Incredibles
Austin Powers
Road Trip
Borat
50 First Dates
Tropic Thunder

Wes Anderson movies - quirky and dry with heart.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
Hotel Chevalier (2007)
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004)
The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
Rushmore (1998)
Bottle Rocket (1996)

The remake of "Heaven can wait" with Warren Beatty.
Another film I have recently been thinking of is "Time after time", released in 1979. Actually sy-fy, with alot of funny moments. Stars Malcolm Mcdowell. H.G. Wells follows Jack the Ripper to 1970's San Francisco. Very good movie. Have been looking for it on t.v., with no luck and can't find it at video stores. Any ideas?

Incredible set of films!

As far as stupid humor goes, I'm surprised no one mentioned Airplane!

(never mind, just noticed it was listed like four times after doing a search.

Pink Panther - with Peter Sellers.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

The Mask

Liar, Liar

Monty Python - love Brit style humour...

Meaning of Life!! (I couldn't eat a mint! )

The Birdcage
Trading Places
Bowfinger
Christmas Vacation

Great movie - so much fun!

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

I love this so much I OWN it!

I love the British guy's line:

Are you saying something against America?

J. Algernon Hawthorne: Against it?.......And this infantile preoccupation with bosoms. In all time in this Godforsaken country, the one thing that has appalled me most of all this this preposterous preoccupation with bosoms. ...

:funn:

Superbad
Animal House
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Anchorman
The 40 Year Old Virgin
Tommy Boy
Old School
Knocked Up

Annie Hall is one of my favorites - I adore Woody Allen.
The Meaning of Life (for the Galaxy Song alone I would rate this way up there)
Oh lol Some Like It Hot is classic!

most recent I would have to say Tropic Thunder.

G

I agree....SOME LIKE IT HOT.......it's the 50th anniversary. Filmed at the Hotel del Coronado.

A Hole in the Head...great film with Sinatra and Edward G. Robinson

Any Marx Bros Film.....Same for Laurel and Hardy

The Producers

One of my favorites is Scorsese's After Hours starring Griffin Dunne (Dominic's son).

It also stars a young Catherine O'Hara, Teri Garr, John Heard, just to name a few. It's quirky, weird, dark, but hilarious. Griffin Dunne is priceless.

Be sure to dvr it if you ever see it on IFC.
