OCD! Do you repaint your toenails everyday????? I am so over the French pedicure...it has always bothered me a bit. :dunno:

No of course not! In fact it's really the opposite because the paint usually chips off and looks tacky before I look at my toesies and realise it's time for a re-do. But I DO, however, wear only the sandals that are in the correct color scheme for whatever color my toenails are. And YES, I do have lots of fun sandals for the summer in all different colors!

Feet don't bother me, but when somebody's nails get nasty and thick enough to have to trim with bolt cutters, it's time to start wearing black socks with your sandals!

I'm a little late jumping in here but my question is........................
If a woman is wearing sandals and her toes nails are manicured, do you think she should have them painted? :dunno:

I think if you take care of your toenails and they look nice without polish, then NO they do not need to be painted, unless you choose to do so. I finally figured out that long term use of nail polish makes your nails yellow - I prefer to go without. and I do go without on my fingernails ALL the time now - who has time for friggin polish?

but toenails need a little something to make them look nice. if you can keep them clean, filed nicely and buffed, then no polish is needed. its really much healthier!

otherwise, I do like a good American French polish job. (white tips are more natural looking, and not so glaringly white).

I have decent feet with long toes that have come in handy for picking up shells on the beach!! I have crooked pinky toes from running into things and bike wrecks and the many resulting breaks. I like to keep my toenails painted year round since anytime it's remotely warm-or just not freezing I'll be rocking flip flops!!

I have issues with old people's toenails when they look like Fritos-OMG gross!!!

I am not a fan of a french polish on toes - too fussy IMO and it takes special toes to pull it off.

If you are a girl wearing dressy sandals you should have polish on.

Do you like your feet? Does it gross you out to look at other people's feet? Oooooh! Toenails!! It scares the heck out of me to look at old people's toenails.
The older I get, the grosser my feet get. I really need a pedicure every week, but it's too expensive and takes too long.

My polish colors are the OPI off-white colors (like "Get Me to the Taj On Time") or orange when I'm really feeling the Gator spirit (like "Orange You Glad It's Summer"). I love Hard Candy Pulp, but they don't make that any more.

My sister is a close to being a saint in my book because she actually gave Mom a pedicure. I can't even stand to look at Mom's toenails.

its funny how tastes change with age. I used to have polish on my toes 365/24/7. no going out of the house without polish on toes. EVER. I felt the same about mascara.

now I could care less about either. I will do mascara, and a pedicure when there is really good reason for them - like a special event. I do love a pedicure and will treat myself now and then. I do believe in neat looking nails on hands and feet - but polish is highly overrated, imo. its not healthy in the longterm, and it looks like sheet after the first week. I can easily maintain unpainted nails, but the painted nails are just too much hassle.

my best girlfriend in HS used to get on me constantly about my nail polish being half chipped off. I did not even care. (she has owned a nail business for many years since then)... now? i don't like polish on my fingernails at all!

one thing we haven't discussed here - the fake acrylic nails. omc. I have never wanted them. I have many girlfriends who loved them in the past (but most don't have them now). I think these are awful - UNLESS you have really bad nails - they can be a great help in some cases - as long as they are made to look natural.
