It is a tough property law question, but the equities may be in favor of the current holder (beachrunner) of this lost treasure trove - if it can be considered abandoned (which determination depends on a couple of more factors still)...

anyhow, I'm sure if someone is the lawful owner, and can prove that to beachrunner, that a reward ought to be offerred. Since finding the owner is unlikely, there is no duty in this case to take this ring to the sheriff, as it was unlikely to be found easily by whoever lost it last.

Snowman has the ring, not me. But If I had it, I would be thrilled to return it to the owner and see her joy and relief!

Snowman does it have any kind of distinguishing marks? I had a renter loose one about 2 years ago and before I go to the effort of contacting them I just wanted to know if it had an inscription or something like that.

Thanks in advance.

needs to get out more

I know of a lost small, silver, rounded ring, with words stamped into it.

If it has diamonds in it, it was mine!!! :lie:

it was lost recently...as it was found sticking out of the sand .....if you need more info please pm me and describe the location and the details of the ring.

Who said it was lost? Maybe it was pitched there in disgust!

That'll learn someone for falling in the wrong hole on the beach. :floor:
