Isn't it funny how we now think paying anything less than $2.80 is 'a deal'?!:bang:

I warned you guys that was going to happen when the price for gas jumped from $1.50 per gallon just a little over a year ago. I even caught myself in the lie when I filled up at "only" $2.87 per gal two days ago.

I already sense the demand rising tomorrow, as everyone will go stock up all of their vehicles and spare gas cans. I think I will go to the Red Bar, instead.

I can actually get gas here, still, for $2.65 a gallon! Stations range from $2.63 to $2.89  Why the huge gap? Most of the stations that have higher priced gas are near the interstates and in remote locations ....price gouging! :nono1:

Some gas stations receive gas daily, while others not as often. The change in price from a supplier can vary greatly from day to day. The stations with the cheaper rates will often sell more gas, and as wholesale prices for petrol drop, the station will be able to drop its price accordingly, if they choose to do so. That vendor with the higher price will still have to empty his tanks before they will receive the cheaper gas from the supplier, therefore, they sell the higher priced gas until that new supply comes.

There is that other twist about location. Interstate locations are often higher priced than the the norm -- not much different than going to Baytowne Wharf expecting the prices of Raw Oysters to be in line with Hunt's Oyster Bar in Panty Maw City.
