Oh, I am so sad about Barbaro. How ironic is it that such a strong and large animal resides on such fragile limbs? I was so sure that he was out of the woods until the report came out about problems when they changed his cast. Then it all hit the fan.
Thank you Jenny...you made me feel better. I can now imagine Barbaro running pain free through fields of green grass full of apples and sugar cubes.
I was at the Derby when Barbaro won.(50th Birthday present). He was a magnificent creature...I think the owners were correct when they tried to save him and also correct to euthanize when it became apparent he was unable to recover from his horrific injuries........
