Going to Extreme Home Makeover ~ MOVE THAT BUS!

Invited to watch them "MOVE THAT BUS" next week.
Alure Home Builders in conjunction with Extreme Home Makeover will be building a new Rec Center for tri-state under-priviledged children in my County, and then building a new home for a family as well.
The reveals will be Wednesday and Thursday, but I'll be going over there all week long to watch the construction to the rec center.
They'll be taking us by bus shuttle all week. Should be funn.

Hey Mango, Please tell them that we need a rec center and park in SoWal. While we might not seem underpriveleged, the fact that we don't have a rec center or real playground for the kids who LIVE here, that counts as underprivileged to me! TY,PLEASE BUILD US A REC CENTER AND PARK

This is not a public rec center/ camp. It's for kids with HIV, etc. and or kids who are living in the concrete jungles, who are at or below the poverty level. They bus them in from the tri-state area and they visit at the camp. This area is full of lakes and trees/forests/mountains a lot like Sowal minus the Gulf.

Anyway, excited, got my pretty blue construction boots ready, called in, and now on my way to pick up gatorade and granola bars that they are short on.

Trying to. Been going back and forth home since the site is only a few miles from my house back roads. MAN-go had to go to outlaws unexpectedly, so I am flying solo this weekend.

Well heading back over again. It's a little nutty over there. Lots of peeps.
I'll try and load some pics tonight.

Got sent home. They are almost done, roof is going on tonight, and unless I wanted to lift roofing materials and haul them to the site, :shock: so I came home. Forgot my memory card in the computer. :roll: and no one was really taking any pictures they were all busy bees, mostly a lot of really young fellas (who Bless their hearts, worked till 4 am this morning) and a few gals on kitchen patrol helping out. The rec center is small. Today people seemed pretty tired.

They shut down the site for hours to do filming. I know the film crews were staying about half hour north in a little hotel no one remembered the name of . The only spotting thus far was that dark haired girl who is a designer, ( sorry, I really don't watch the show that often) and one other guy. I didn't see them, a gal who worked kitchen said she saw them. I got to park in VIP parking/construction, but the little bus was always there ready to go when I went, so I didn't have time to take pics.
It was nice to see so many people come out to work. There were hardly any spectators. They had more people then they needed. Everyone wanted to do something for the kids.

I'll be back on Wednesday for the reveal. They said 11:00 am, but I will be there earlier, as I have been hearing different times, and I suppose the earlier the better, get closer to scream "Move that Bus"! and I see Ty, since didn't hear anyone say they saw him yet. :roll: Maybe because everything shut down for hours for filming. Poor workers just stood around waiting.

Here's a quick shot of one of the late night workers on the bus putting his shirt on - they gave out hardhats too, and they had to be worn all the time.

Sorry I don't have better pics. I can't figure how to get some out off my camera internal card. Besides, not many picture takers.

I'm fine. For some reason they didn't let me do much of anything.
Everytime I went. I figured by now they would be tired, so I went late day since I am a night bird. Can't say I didn't try.
Maybe I look too meek?
