Graves disease, Recommend any Dr's?

Hello,

I have had Graves disease for several years now. It developed after the birth of my second daughter.

I have been controling it well with antityroid medications but still need to have lab work done every 6-8 weeks to make sure I am in range.

Anyone out there recommend any Dr.s with experience in hyperthyroid disease.

Especially not looking for Endocranologists because they all want to have me take radioactive iodine to render the thyroid dead. Unfortunatly it is not that simple. RAI, messes with many hormones and being rendered permantly hyprothyroid is not an option I am looking for. Many Dr.s will argue all day long about this but until I know a Dr. that has took the radioactive iodine and wants to treat me with it I am not traveling that path.

Thanks

I also have a thyroid disease and have found that Dr McKee at the Healthpoint office in PC Beach is great.

i also have thyroid disease. i found a a great dr. about 2 yrs ago (he's actually a pa but with incredible experience and a very enlightening story as he was an army medic). if u pm me i'll be glad to give u all his info. i have referred alot of people to him and everyone seems quite happy. both my children go to him also. he's very inovative and sometimes out of the norm-which is quite appealing and refreshing. he actually listens to you!!!

I would try Dr. Coetzee (sp?) or Varnedore.
