Gulfview Heights Regional Beach Access Upgrades

Walton County Beach Operations will host a Public
Meeting at 5pm on August 24, 2026, in the South Walton Annex Building located
at 31 Coastal Centre Drive in Santa Rosa Beach, to discuss the Gulfview Heights
Regional Beach Access Right-of-Way improvements, and to gather public input
regarding the design and amenities.

Three concepts have been created, and the public is invited to attend and provide
input on the designs.

Future plans include:
 Increase Parking Capacity
 Resurface Gulfview Heights St.
 Resurface Parking Areas
 Multi-use Path Realignment
 Increase Accessible Parking
 Update Signage & Pavement Markings
 Enhance Beach Tram Stop with Shelter
 Low Speed Vehicle Parking
 Landscape/Hardscape

Think SoWal has a sign pollution problem? A parking problem? Both? Perhaps there should be parking spaces installed on the shoulder instead of signs.

The downside to the signs is they drive people to park on 30A. Funny thing...I walk that almost every day and never realized there were so many because I don't see them all at once. Thanks, Kurt, for ruining my walk! 😛😀
