Call me immature ONE more time, and you'll no longer be invited to help me build my awesome couch cushion fort.

When I was younger we had a 2 piece couch down the basement. We used to turn one of them over and place it on top of the other. We made a stagecoach. We used to play cowboys and indians for hours.

We used towels and blankets pinned to the clothes lines, to build our fort. It was cool, with doors and windows, but not much fun where it rained...

We used the drop leaf dining room table with couch cushion walls - structurally sound and Mom liked it because we had to clean it up before dinner.

We always used big boxes with holes cut out so I could see ya coming!

We actually dug a underground fort in a nearby forest and had it covered over so it was impossible to see just the the fort they had in Stephen Kings "IT". We kept our nudie magazines there in fear of parental discovery! lol We were 13 at the time...back when summer vacation stretched out for all eternity in front you with infinite possibilities. Now I blink twice and summer is almost over! lol

When we were in Germany (fifth grade) we lived in an apartment complex, with a park in the middle. When it snowed really bigtime we built a fort out of snow, maybe three feet thick and seemed like eight feet tall, and the really cool part was we built it with no doors. To get in, you had to climb up the slide and slide in. This was for protection against the guys in the neighboring complex, who also had a snow fort. When they tried to come down the slide, we blasted 'em.
