So basically it's the same thing we've been saying all along with backup research. At least that's what I got out of it.

Right. But some folks really need that sort of info to confirm what so many of us consider common sense or obvious conclusions. And for some, even proper studies and stats aren't enough, if the conclusions are not lockstep with their core beliefs and world view. Calcified brains?

I can assure you that the existence of information which would make a reasonable person conclude that the jobs aren't guaranteed, that the cash promised is exaggerated, that the quality of the beaches will suffer even without accidents, that an accident will be detrimental to our tourism, that even the latest equipment causes spills, that gas prices will not go down, that there isn't that much oil out there, that this will do nothing to address foreign dependence on oil and that this is a bad bill for Florida,,,,,,,,,,, the existence of such information is not enough to stop our elected officials from passing this bill. Get involved.
