My 13 year old son walking up to me and giving me a hug and kiss, and telling me he loves me.

Being snug in my bed, and my Angel dog jumping on the bed and making her "nest" in the crook of my knees and putting her head on my leg, and making that last audible sigh before she falls off to sleep.

Oh, gull, let me tell you--it happens regularly! I sold a bunch of Littlest Man's Gap clothes from last year, there were several items that sold either for what I paid for them or above. I always say there are some clothing items I have sold that my kids basically were paid to wear for a year!

Happiness is my 4.5 month old nephew reaching out for me to pick him up for the first time. I caught his cold, but it was worth it.

Happiness is 9 PM, everyone showered and in bed, and a quiet house. ;-)

happiness is a cool evening at Grayton Beach and there is almost no one else out there... just a few friends, a glass of wine, children playing in the lake, the sliver of a moon just over the gulf as the blood orange horizon slowly recedes. Fall weather at the beach is already here. oh, and a massive sea turtle shows up just off the shore, looks like she's doing the breaststroke with her huge fins....

I'm sound asleep, it's about 4 in the morning, my son (5 at the time) softly pads into the bedroom, walks over to me and quietly gives me a soft kiss on my cheek and whispers, "I love you, mommy" and walks out and gets back into his bed.

I think about that happy memory about once a week & I always choke up.

Alright alright already. I'll come clean.

The kid called to say hello and tell me he was mailing $100 check to us to go on his car insurance bill. I was so happy! I didn't even nag him before he offered. Amazing!

I gotta say the kid has excellent excellent timing. You know how much his allowance is? You got it. $100. I told him to save the stamp.
