The newest HP came out Tuesday. Never saw this one on the big screen. Should I rent it or buy it? I <3 the last HP movie.

Pretty cool on the big screen. We bought it (2 kids- what do ya do?)- have to have it for the series. I liked it. But I am a huge HP fan.
We haven't bought a movie in ages though thanks to Netflix. I can rent the lame kid movies and if Kate watches it more than 25 times, we buy it. If she wanders off halfway through it, I can smugly pop the DVD back into the envelope and stick it in the mailbox.

Our 21-year-old bought it (with our money) and has already watched it multiple times. I have seen Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban many times - love the scene with Harry riding Buckbeat over the water, love the intro scene with the haughty relative expanding like a helium baloon, etc.
I answered my own question - I heart HP movies - I'll buy it.
IMHO it is just absolutely brilliant that someone could write a book and/or someone could write a screenplay that appeals to multiple generations. Disclaimer: I have no expertise in this area, so please don't be cruel if you disagree.

The Weasley twins almost steal the show - they are really funny in this one. And Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort is chilling.

Have you all read the book for this last movie? This and the movie are marvelous! I thought all the drama with the teens--all that angst!!--was spot on. I had tears in my eyes when...don't worry BR I won't ruin it for you. ;-)

Bought Harry Potter/Goblet from Deep Discount DVD but have not yet watched it. I liked the book though at times the teen angst was almost too much. Love love love Prisoner of Azkaban.
I feel so out of it here in PSJ. I saw more first run movies in France (and on the plane) than I did in the last 4 months here.
Brokeback Mountain is coming to Appalach next week and I'll probably go see it by myself, not sure I can talk the spouse into it.

me too guys, my hubby wouldn't be caught dead going to see it. of course i am too cheap to go to the movies anyway, i either buy them on dvd or watch them on the movie channels. around here by the time you buy 2 tix, popcorn, cokes, you've spend close to $25-30. i think that's highway robbery myself !

We rarely watch a movie at a theatre. It's just so much more comfy at home in your jammies with a glass of vino -- and cheaper!

Same here. Problem is I get so comfy, I'm sound asleep long before the credits roll. 😀

We joined this and it's great! At Kerasotes theatres (you have one in Richmond) you can see the movies for $5 if you are able to wait about two weeks 'til they've had their first run. It's free to join, too.
We just bought a copy of Harry Potter today, the 2 dvd set. Popcorn and movies with the Mers tonight!

i will mention this to my friends at work who are movie buffs... unfortunately our last several experiences at the theater was not good. between cell phones, talking, drunk teens, etc. it is better for my blood pressure to watch at home.. i will think of you tonight - i think we may do the harry potter thing too ! enjoy !! 😀

I liked the movie even more the 2nd time I watched it. Now I want to go to Scotland again and see all the lochs and mountains. What gorgeous scenery! I hope JK Rawlings doesn't make us wait another five years before she finishes the series. I'm busting to know how the Harry Potter/Voldemort connection resolves itself.
