Thanks for this very informative thread.
I need to replace my 5 year old very basic cell phone and all this info is going to come in handy. But I'm waiting to acquire new communications tools until Mercury goes direct after May 31st ;-)

The plus side of the iPhone, from what I've seen, is that it can do everything, except fold your laundry.

The downside is people that have these things can't seem to put them down when out in public. At this rate, people will be sitting at a restaurant and everyone will communicate with their thumbs. Well, except me...guess I'll be talking to myself! :D

Is "Mercury" the new iPhone, expected to hit the market soon? The Yahoo news article mentioned that another factor of low sales in iPhone lately may also be in part, due to people waiting for the new model to hit the shelves.

Me too - time for another discussion w/ a sales clerk about how I don't NEED those features (and couldn't work them if I did) and certainly will not be buying a $$ phone and service plan, because I just want the phone to send/receive calls and texts. :bang:

Ooooh, Mercury Retrodrade, Baby. This one better be an easy one for us! :D

It starts next week, right? Let's compare as we move into it. ;-)

One GF only talks with her thumbs - drives me up the frigin' wall!

One night we were out and she was on that thing, holding it up so we could read along about whatever the sending person was sending her.

I looked around our table and said, "Do y'all know this person? I don't. What is that person talking about GF?"

It made her mad. I so hope she doesn't do this when we get together this week. I'm gonna have to be a smart ass! :D

I LOVE my iPhone but to me AT&T isn't the best of services between PC and Destin.......Lots of black holes around here. With all the bells and whistles of internet use, I don't mind my monthly bill. But, I love anything Apple.

Well quit whining and go with the most advertised phone in your market segment.

Behold:
