I need some creative fun ideas for a 50th birthday this weekend!!! My mom will be turning 50 and we had been planning on taking her to New Orleans for 2 days, however, we have had something come up and will now only have Saturday to do something. I need some fun creative ideas. Or does anyone think it would be ok to leave for New Orleans Sat a.m. and come home by early afternoon on Sunday? Please help!!!

How nice of you to plan a fun weekend for your mom! As a mom who is 51 I can say that the thought alone is the most meaningful so I am certain that any plans would be great.
ANYTHING to do with a spa would be NUMERO UNO on my list of wishes. If money is tight then just a fun day shopping and lunch. Or a museum or park of her choice. A hike? These are things I like - so you have to think about what she loves.
Sure, you could swing a quick trip to NOLA, but I personally don't like those get there turn around trips.
