How do YOU Celebrate?

How do you celebrate Valentine's? Romantic night out? Dinner at home? Cards? Flowers?

Me and hubby prefer to profess our love on our anniversary. We will give each other a card (sometimes hubby remembers). We did have a V-Day celebration with our Supper Club last night, which is the only true celebration I remember!!

So....dish already! What's up for your day??

Nothing specific...just looking for good things to happen and being with the ones I love
Happy Day
To me it's the so-called little things like
cup of coffee with a friend
watching a movie together
eating dinner with my family
ya know
just living
and doing things that make you happy

My family and friends tend to celebrate Valentine's Day as a holiday more about funny cards, red/pink food, tacky and hilarious underwear, and being goofy than romance and $$$ celebrations.

Yummy food and chocolate are of course part of the holiday and the women still want flowers, but it's more about all the people you love - not just your lover.

Dinner and a movie yesterday with the hubby, since we won't get to see each other again till the end of the week. Sending friends goofy cards and brought pink and red cupcakes to work for my friends there. Wish we would celebrate love everyday.

This year we're splurging on calories at our favorite pizza place-a totally unromantic but delicious joint! we picked up some lovely chocolate with french gray salt on top for dessert-the two chocolates are almost as expensive as our dinner will be!! Cards but no gifts this year, we've both been busy at work and our weekends have been too full for shopping. Most years we do a small gift and some years we take a little trip for V day so nothing concrete for us.

After one of the worst pucking days in the history of working, and sitting in pucking traffic for over an hour, I came home and poured me a big old vodka screwdriver. Mr. DD had gotten already boiled shrimp which was actually good, I made a quick salad and we ate as he very sweetly listened to me vent and ramble for about 45 minutes.

How sweet is that?!

We cooked an easy dinner at home. Really relaxing.

I LOVE this idea of a tacky Valentine!!! :lolabove:

Just learned the true meaning of this tonight! GREAT reminder!

My Bible study group tonight decided to make someone our "Valentine" each day this week. Take time to say...I love you for being you!

Sounds absolutely perfect!

Hubby actually "made" me a card this year with pen and paper. The words are priceless and soooo much better than him finding one that someone else wrote! I have cherished my card all day. 😀
