How do you undo DISinformation?

Maybe through media self cannibalism?

None of the die-hard Beck devotees that I know would dream of tuning into Maddow... so WHO was she talking to and WHAT did she achieve?:idontno:
A coupla possibilities that come to mind:
1) filled a time slot preachin' to her choir
2) Maddow has a secret crush on Beck and seeks to gain his attentions by pulling his braids.

No particular offense to Maddow... the same applies to O'Reilly and all the other Howlers (cable AND network 'news').

Maddow should spend less time worrying about Glen Beck and more time working on presenting poltical news and current events honestly and without bias. She's smart enough to understand and discuss all sides of an issue but regularly fails to do so.

Simple. Beck's rating were waaay down in January--fear brings him a whole boatload of viewers--like to Jim Cantore's weather segments when a big hurricane "might" be developing.

How to stop it? Sit your young children and grand children down and tape the word "clown" onto the screen on a piece of paper. Then, spell it out for them..c-l-o-w-n...and again, and again. Either that or burn your TV and radio.

Frankly, if it weren't for Glenn Beck, we would not have had some of the most classic comedic events in history on The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. The way they completely expose and explode his buffoonery is sublime.

Maddow is all about opinion based on reality, and Beck is all about conspiracy based on delusion. Take your pick.

Sometimes what he says makes good sense but you have to have enough common sense in the first place to recognize it. But then again, he is in a time slot opposite Oprah. He is no better or worse than Maddow. Both have their agendas.

Maddow doesn't spout on and on about these incredulous conspiracy theories. She doesn't refer to anyone as Hitler. Most of what she does is call BS on the stuff coming out of Fox and she backs it up with facts. Glenn Beck seems to be allergic to facts.

I am thankful for her, Stewart, and Colbert calling Beck and Limbaugh out for some of their buffoonery and conspiracy theories. They are all entertainment shows, but at least Maddow isn't making her $$ by inciting fear and prejudice. That puts her leaps and bounds over Beck for me.

And she makes me laugh ............................. Beck makes my skin crawl.

Andy, I have tried to watch Beck on multiple occasions.

I know you have highly recommended some shows he has done (on the presidents and the constitution I think), but I get so distracted by his theatrics, tone, and blatant misrepresentations that I can't watch the show.

It says a lot about Beck that I can't watch an entire segment of his show without being disgusted, as I try to get information and opinions from as many diverse sources as possible.

I can't watch Beck for long. He's all over the place. Is it possible that his ADD is communicable?

This is precisely my sentiments. I've tried to watch him also, and he deviates from reality like nobody I've ever seen before.

Alone in the wilderness with millions of other viewers not on SoWal. I guess I'm more thick skinned than most but I'm not easily swayed despite what some may think, by Beck or anyone else.
