This is soooo my mother! She will buy something online. I will ask, "Where did you get that?" Her reply is always "Off the internet". "I know, Mom, but which website?" "I don't know what you mean...I bought if off the internet"....this goes on and on....

Ok...clearly this strikes a cord with me!

Mom: How do I look something up on the internet?
Me: Just google it
Mom: I don't know how to google:roll:

Mine refuse to cut and paste any links/websites I send. They think it if isn't automatically underlined and blue I sent them an incorrect link.

And of course there is the standard:
Mom: "I can't talk right now"
Me: "No problem, call me later. Why did you even answer the phone? I could have just left a message."
Mom: "I thought it was Grandma, your Father etc. calling and it might be important."
Me: "Do they usually call you from my cell phone?"
Mom: "Oh, I never look at who is calling." :bang:

I can also relate. My mom will call me and ask me to look something up on "my" internet because hers doesn't have it.

My parents use email, photo software and online albums, ipod/music, and browser for news, research, shopping, recipes, and everything - and they are pretty good at it. But they completely draw the line at fb and texting. I don't blame 'em.

They don't understand or like the fact that no one answers the phone - they seem to take it personally.

I've had trouble w/ FB lately & asked my son for help.
I tried to send him the failbook.com image from Kurt's original post, but, of course I failed.
As I understand it, the Internet is a "system of tubes," right?

I taught Mama Scooterbug to text. At the beginning it was ridiculous as I got texted constantly, but then the novelty wore off.

Papa Scooterbug thinks texting is incredibly stupid and claims Mama Scooterbug sullied his phone's purity by using it to text me one time.

My lovely father-in-law will not accept the gift of a laptop that we know, and he knows, he'd love because.......he might actually love it and then he'd be in trouble with my mother-in-law for using it too much.

My dad is old because he died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 1968 at the age of 54. He would be 97 if he were still alive. Our mom was much younger than he. Daddy was a member of the Commerce Club in Atlanta and a well-respected and powerful business leader in Atlanta.

I will always adore you, Daddy. Thanks for encouraging my math skills because I wouldn't have gotten a Ph.D. in math without your support of me as a female child. I have tenure and am secure in my job because of the confidence you gave me as a young girl.
