Hwy 395 & Hwy 283 North Bike Path

PROJECT: The intent of this project is to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety and access by constructing an 8-ft wide multi-use path along County Road 283 from North of US Highway 98 to East Mitchel Avenue. The proposed alignment runs approximately 6-ft to 10-ft off the eastern edge of County Road 283. The project consists of the construction of a multiuse path, regrading of existing driveways, signing and markings, and the maintenance of traffic needed to construct the multi-use path.

Hwy 395 north was scheduled to be widened, repaved, and a bike path added years ago. I see a lot of traffic backed up on that road because of schools and churches and lots of potholes. Also lots of people biking to Eden Gardens State Park from Seagrove ...

This was planned years ago - what happened anybody know?

Maybe it got scrapped. It definitley needs attention and repaving. I agree it should be a priority as to bike path it gets more bikes than any other road north of 98.

CR 283 North (Bay Drive) Multi Use Path:
This project involves the construction of an 8 ft multi-use path along the east side of CR 283 (Bay Drive) North from US Hwy 98 to Mitchell Avenue. Construction is anticipated to commence Fall of 2021.

US Hwy 98 / CR 395 Signal Modifications:
This project involves signal modifications at the US Hwy 98 / CR 395 intersection to implement flashing yellow left arrows on the mainline and signalized crosswalk for pedestrians. This project is intended to enhance safety for pedestrians crossing the intersection and will be constructed prior to extending a multi-use path north along CR 395 North from US 98 to the Choctawhatchee Bay. The CR 395 North multi-use path project is currently under design and a request for construction funding is pending permits from FDEP.

how about the missing part of a bike path on 393 North to Chat Holley Road? Many people walk and ride bikes along this dangerous area that will only become more congested in the near future.

You mean the area that is blatantly not a tourist corridor and therefore not eligible for tourist tax dollars?

how about tax dollars? I was told by a former commissioner that this IS part of the scenic corridor. Not looking to split hairs with you over tourists tax dollars just wondering if the new post office will have bike or sidewalk access

Why was the bike path on south 393 from 98 to Ridge Rd made as a concrete sidewalk? It's got to be way more expensive than our usual asphalt path. Which also looks way better.

And the repavement on that section is uneven and bumpy as hell

Hwy 395 is still supposed to get a bike path, but it will be several years from what I understand. in case I'm not around then, someone please remind the County that Chance Powell agreed that Gid Godwin's oak tree wouldn't be harmed.
