With a house.... Magnolia Treehouse in Grayton, on Banfill st.
We have friends staying there this week. It is the coolest house ever- if I could have picked the perfect house for a week, with a pile of kids, this is it. So many custom touches- I will take pics and post. The pics on Rivard's website do not do it justice!
Tonight we sat at a very old table with our good friends, drank lots of wine, loked at Western lake, and laughed alot. I need to spend a week at this house!!
Does anyone kowthe history, or story? I am sure there is a "back story" on this place!

I am shocked. I thought Washaway was the love of your life and now you've thrown it over for this new fling? For shame!

Same kind of way-cool old house. You would love this place Mermy. And great lake and dune views. I think I might have to rent this house in the summer for vacation!
I wanted to be a teenage girl again- there is a bedroom with 3 double beds- a bunkroom. The girls had their stuff everywhere and it looked like a blast. They let Kate hang with them like a "big girl".
What a great week they will have staying up late, watching movies, giggling, looking out at Western Lake- tthe perfect spring break before they head off to college next year.

I like that house, too. I recall drinking suds and spending time with good peeps there. I probably even have some video footage of some talented people playing in that house, hidden in the depths of my other computer.

Do you know the history of it? Maybe Steelemama knows something. I'm moving in this week!

No, I don't know anything about it other than what it looks like, but I bet that SteeleMama certainly does. She probably played there as a kid.

Such rave reviews prompted me to take a look at Rivard's website and I'll be darned but I know this house! They've painted that tropical color on the bottom half and painted the outdoor stairs white, but otherwise it looks exactly as it always has. It IS a cool house. I wish there were more of them like that left. My parents used to stay on Eastern Lake at a house like that with the wood floors and walls and it's long since been torn down to make way for newer better better (not!).

Uh-oh. This is the favorite house of a Sowaller who was hoping it never got discovered. The secret is out!
Must be a great house, though, from the way both of you have raved about it.

Oops! But I'm not worried- as we all know, so many vacationers are looking for granite countertops and the thrill of living in a Pottery Barn catalog recreation for a week.
Which is nice...but this house has some heart. Somebody loves it alot-SoWal Expert

You make a good point, though, Jenay--lack of granite countertops might be a deterrent... :roll:Which is nice...but this house has some heart. Somebody loves it alot-

Do you know the history of it? Maybe Steelemama knows something. I'm moving in this week!Yes, I definitely know the history! It was built by Fred Fulton of Enterprise, AL. His kids, Buddy, Donnie and Karen were some of our best friends growing up. I hung out with Karen all the time. We swam in the lake at their dock and walked to the store to buy trinkets out of the gum machine. Her mother always had cold cokes on the back porch ( quite a treat for me). We would play Rook cards up in the "sleeping" room. Many, many memories in that house. So I thorougly enjoyed staying there during the wedding. Like being home.
A few years ago I stopped to talk to a young lady who was sitting on the beach by the water. We were talking about home towns and kids. She said she grew up in Enterprise. I said "Karen???" Yep. it was her. Amazing. I gave her a ride home in the beach buggy and went in and visited. Her dad since sold the house and I doubt they come to Grayton anymore. Kinda sad.

We stayed there for Thanksgiving a few years back. Loved it. Not sure if it would be my first choice for a summer vacation spot, but it's an awesome off-season house.

If only he had been a girl, little Maggie would be crawling around right now. :funn:
I guess we could have use "Treehouse" though.

Dylan has a very good friend at school named Grayton. One of the only families I know that have ever been there. Now they rarely visit sowal and stay in Sandestin. Mr OL said it was a good thing they discovered Grayton first b/c Sandestin would have been a silly name for a boy. We then really laughed...their second child? Sadie...short for Sandestin? I think so.

Wouldn't "Sandy" be the abbreviate version of Sandestin? I still think that Sandestin would be a better name for a kid than "Back Seat" or Chevy Nova.
