THAT is precisely why I feel people should keep their Avatar, and change their signature pics if they feel the need for variety.
Its all about branding. People can't read. They look for the pics to identify their friends.
I was going to change my avatar to a variation of SueShore's original Miss Kitty, but then thought, no I'll use it as a sig pic.
So here is my tribute/memorial to The Original Miss Kitty Pic, that I call
Kitty Van Gogh. This is in celebration of my 300th post in just over 30 daze.

I get what you're saying, and I used to think it would be best if we kind of kept to our 'tars, for consistency, etc. but, we started this hysterical "tar of the day" thing months ago... and it was so much funn that we just kind of got into the routine of changing for this and that... wish you could have seen some of the crazy tars we had there for a while... things like Monday - celebrity you want to "do" tar, Tues - your fave childhood TV tar, Wed - big hair day... etc.

I was so frustrated because everyone but me and the Kitty changed their tars to the theme of the day, every day. I had to learn computers. ;-) It was torture!I have the best of both worlds, I think. Forever a mermaid, but there's a bottomless supply of them floating around the internet, from scrawny nasty Halloween ones to cute little ones stuck in Christmas ornaments, you name it. I bet I can even dig one up with rabbit ears for Easter.
