I don't get it...

First, let me say that I do not believe in animal cruelty. Today, I received a boycott email because this list of companies tests their products on animals. I just don't get it. :idontno: Can you help me understand the ones listed below. The original list was much larger, but I am curious about these.

Calvin Klein & Adidas - are they trying on outfits? Arm&Hammer - are they whitening their teeth?Charmin, Cottonelle, & Kleenex - Don't tell me they are wiping monkey butts and blowing their noses.
Colgate & Crest - Are they brushing their teeth?
Eukanuba - Don't tell me that they are feeding the dogs dogfood?
Folgers - My dog loves coffee
Iams - maybe testing out some cat food on some cats?
Pantene- I often use Pantene to wash my dogs, and it seems to do their skin and hair well.

Hollibird, I am curious about your PETA post.

Please share with us the names of the cruelty free products that you currently use, since I guess you do not use Charmin, Cottonelle, or Kleenex toilet paper, Arm&Hammer baking soda, or feed your pets Iams or Eukanuba. Also, I am assuming you do not consume any animal products in any way, period, or you would not be "playing the PETA card". Leather? Hmmm...guess I could look the other way on that one since the cow was already turned into steak and it is a shame to toss a good hide in the dumpster. Prescription drugs? Nah, who needs 'em?

I have learned one thing about the PETA gang- usually people that are spouting the PETA party line aren't totally living the cruelty free lifestyle. But they are quick to show everyone the propoganda. Another interesting little statistic- when I worked at the vet clinic, most of our PETA clients did not spay or neuter their pets. Guess they donated all their money to buy more PETA surveillance cameras.

PETA can possibly legitimize itself by stopping the weirdness (like having Pamela Anderson for their oh-so-classy spokesmodel!) and appealing to people's intelligence. I find their tactics insulting and amateurish, and now it's just getting boring.

Look out, JDarg is coming out swinging! By the way, I read today that the NBA is going to return to using good old fashioned LEATHER basketballs soon! Maybe Pam Anderson will fashion a bra out of a halved rubber ball?

Well I tried to get my pudgy ass in a pair of CalvinKlein low rise jeans last weekend at the Outlet Mall, -don't tell me about animal cruelty.

Let's just say that the Cheekmonks were not getting in that cage.

...............need I go into details about the impact on their stored nuts?

using pantene on a dog is just wrong...

Back to SJ's question -- I think that a lot of the products on that list are made by Proctor and Gamble. http://www.pandgkills.com/main.html

I'm with JDarg on the whole PETA thing. It seems to me that the ASPCA does a lot more good. Further, it really bothers me how often people will walk right by a human suffering to help an animal. I see that a lot in New Orleans these days.

That said, poor bunnies!

So you bring up the question, would you rather see testing on animals or people regarding these products? and I am not talking about cruel testing like filling a bunny's or human's eyes with Pantene to see if it causes long term blindness.

i don't know people - i am strangely intrigued by the testing of products on inmates - maybe the child molesters, pedophiles and rapists are good for something after all ???

Now that sounds like a plan. The death row guys sounds rather boring, but this is like payback. Should the victims and family members of victims get to spray the hairspray into the eyes?

Will you be a sweetie and tell me what are the proportions for making coffee? The man of the house--he who serves me coffee in bed each morning--is out of town for the week and I am at your mercy. I am forced to make my own coffee boohooooo. I tried this morning and it was a total disaster. I poured out 3 cups of water and 2 scoops of coffee and it brewed up to make p*ss water. I know it's not the coffee because I always buy good stuff so obviously I got the water wrong.

Help.

You will be doing a service for humanity.

I hate you.

Am I missing something??? How dumb do you have to be not to know that spraying hairspray directly into your eyes 3 times a day for a year is going to cause problems?

if we could get this pedophile testing going - imagine the money prisons could make, the big corporations could pay the prisons to test the products, and the govt could take that money from the prisons and give it to schools and stuff....i may be on to something here !

I'm not a member of Peta. I don't believe in a lot of their tactics. I was just explaining what they do while testing products. Now I have to go make a ham sandwich.. wrapped in turkey and bacon.
