Jinx , we were watching it tonight, but I fell asleep, but what i saw looked good.

I heard the movie was phenominal. I've not checked it out yet.

Leo Just finished watching The Departed. Loved the cast. Matt Damon and Leo were phenomenal in this movie. I want to discuss but I don't want to give anything away to anyone that hasn't seen it!

I will rent tonight and get back with you!

Me too, but you're exactly right...he's still pretty but he's one of those men that will just get better and better looking.

Be prepared for an a emotional movie...my shoulders are still tense. Dylan and I went to see Bridge to Terabithia before this and jeesh, talk about being wore out from a couple of movies.....

He plays a good slimeball doesn't he?...and so does Matt Damon in this movie. I just hated him. Which tells you what a good actor he is too.


If you like the Godfather movies, Good Fellas or movies like that then you'll like it. Just be prepared for the blood, violence, language etc.. typical gansta movie stuff. I can't wait for you all to see it!!!!!

Yes Jack was great as usual...even though he played an evil man.
OL.. I was surprised by the casting of Matt as the bad guy and Leo as the good...one would think it would have been the other way around...wonderful twist! No type casting in this movie!!:clap_1:

I stayed up watching it this morning thinking I would watch half or so, then see the rest this afternoon before returning it, and I couldn't stop watching it! Up till 4 am! :shock: But it was grayt.

You make me laugh because you sound like me! We've gone crazy with Netflix and I "think" I've seen a lot of movies, too.

I liked The Departed quite a bit; the superb ensemble acting is a fine credit to Scorsese's directing. I had read that DiCaprio was miscast, but I disagree--he was excellent, and good in The Aviator, for that matter. (BTW, as you all probably know, Scorsese appears briefly in all his movies--did anyone catch his appearence in The Departed? It was perfect.)
However, I did not care at all for the ending. Don't want to spoil the movie by going into why.
I have not seen Infernal Affairs, which The Departed is based on, dunno how similar it is or isn't to that original.
I preferred Goodfellas, or the Godfathers, or The Untouchables.
But The Departed is certainly well worth seeing. And even though Oscars are supposed to be for the work, not as a consolation prize or whatever, I hope they give Scorsese the Best Director award on Sunday, because if they wait much longer, it might be too late.

Departed IS good. Leo also does an awesome job in Basketball Diaries. Looks really good on Baz Luhrman's version of Romeo and Juliet, too

Well, since The Departed won last night and everyone thinks this was a great movie, I'll have to go ahead and rent it! Can't hurt to watch Leo either....

Ocean Lover--I just finished saying the same thing to my office gals about Leo. I never took to him much before but Gosh is he HOT in this movie or what???:roll: Loved it but need to watch it again to rehash.
