Venting is the route to self (and loved ones) preservation.
Otherwise, I shut up since I don't have any human kids.
The best to you.
Namaste.

Peapod, even old people with grown children and grown grandchildren and grown great-grandchildren say their kids get on their nerves. I think it's a fact of life. Day 5 only magnifies the situation.

Complain away...been there, done that. Now that the house is empty, I wish for a FEW moments of craziness...but just a few moments.;-)

I can totally relate. My third child arrives tomorrow too (Mom).

Kate had one of her "and one time... at band camp" days. I don't think she has shut up longer that a few minutes since she woke up.

On the bright side- 2 more school days, so a few hours of regrouping...

empty nest empty nest empty nest empty nest

I am hynotised with the notion of empty nest

especially
when
Philippa
tells me
she needs to be
at school
at
6:30 am
tomorrow

AND I HAVE TO DRIVE Her THERE. :bang:

198 days to my empty nest.

Peapod, you can do this. You will survive. Trust me.

Oh, how I remember those days! At the end of a day like that (or a long car ride...!) I used to feel like weeping from the mental exhaustion of it. Just wait, now that energy is used for arguing with me! :bang:

Can't even imagine it at this point; I'm just trying to get everyone in school full-time! I do know I'll survive, you're right. There have been longer trips. And Friday I'm going to Trader Joe's for some of that tea!

Just another hour or so 'til bedtime. Tomorrow will be a better day. :clap_1:

LOL to all of the above. :lolabove:

This is helping me too. I am on Day 9. Hubby has been gone since last Monday. Well, he came home last Friday night at 8 and left the next morning at 9:45, does that count? Can't tell you how many times I have buried my face in my hands today to keep from saying something really mean.

He comes back tomorrow. Thank God.

Mermaid, Katie is 4 months old, how many days do I have? Too addled to calculate. :idontno:

I suggest your fav cup of tea, a hot tub of water for a soaking with some aroma therapy bubbles or lotion to relax and sleep well! Parenthood is tough and you know my story, too! (reading my avdice thread)Hang in there my friend.... and vent whenver you need to. Venting is a cure ...even if there is no answers or advice.

Yes, but are they getting on your last nerve? Tyler knew he better straighten up when I told him he was getting on my last nerve. BTW,You had the right to complain on Day 1.

LOL Pea I am not worthy either.

I've surprised myself with my Zen-like calm several times, but I have also had some VERY un-fine moments. Like 30 minutes ago. Older boy needs to go to sleep to be in good shape for school. Younger boy loves to talk. They are sharing a room. Younger boy would not shut up; older boy could not sleep. I heard it all on the monitor. Several warnings later I swooped upstairs, picked little one out of bed and laid him down on the floor in Katie's room (I did give him a pillow and blanket). Gave him a dirty look and shut the door.

The funny thing was I heard him talking to himself on the monitor, doing the play by play of what just happened. "Ohhhhh. I bothered Jack. Ohhhh. I'm on the floor. Ohhhhh. Mommy is so angry. Ohhhh...." He just can't help himself! He is a motormouth.

15 minutes later, his brother asleep, I put him back in his bed. He started talking to himself about Blues Clues. Help me.

Someone remind me to coo at the baby more. That's all she wants to do. Coo, suck her thumb and look around. She doesn't even need to rock anymore. I forgot to relax and enjoy that part. She does enjoy being toted around ... she grabs my hair and gazes at me. It is sweet. Then I have to break the gaze and yell at ... I mean deal with ... I mean care for one of the boys.

I feel sorry for the little motor mouth, I was the biggest talker in class all through school. I will NEVER forget my first week of school . . . it was spent with me standing with my nose in the corner of the classroom.:( I became very proficient using 3 pencils to write-off 300 times, "I must not talk in class."
